19th July 2021

Hi Everyone,

The Summer holidays are here! This year seems to have flown by with all the up and downs and restrictions, as well as closures and remote learning. Education has looked very different this year. Through it all the children have shown great resilience and hopefulness. Whilst at school, there have been some wonderful learning and creative talents shown. The children have once again outdone themselves with all their hard work, commitment and dedication to achieve their best and share the values that we hold dear in our school. I would like to thank you, their parents, for all the ongoing support you give your children and the school and together we will continue to give the children every opportunity to be the very best them they can be.

We are saying goodbye to the children in year 6, most of whom have spent their whole primary years here as part of our St. Clement’s family. It is unfortunate that we have not been able to send them off with all the celebration and recognition they deserve, but we send them onto secondary school with an education, happy memories, life skills and with love and hope.

We are also saying goodbye to some staff members this year who are off to broaden their horizons: Miss Khatun and Mr Deery.  Mr Tate will also be leaving us as he is retiring and is off on his travels in his camper van. All at St Clement’s would like to thank them for their hard work and dedication over the time they have been with us and wish them good luck for the future.

There will be no new faces joining us in September, and all the staff are already preparing challenging lessons and strategies to help the children move forward with their learning right from the start of term.  Please ensure you read the note about entrances to school for September (on the back of the newsletter).

Although restrictions are relaxing now, it is still important to protect yourselves and others in situations where there is lots of close contact and mixing.

A quote I read in the Bible which felt as though it summed up this academic year- Isaiah 40:31

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

From all the staff at St. Clement’s, we would like to wish you a peaceful and relaxing Summer break and look forward to seeing you in September.
