26th April 2024

Hi Everyone.

My name is Miss Khatun and I am a SEN TA currently in Year 5.  During the morning, I work with KS1 children supporting and teaching phonics. As part of the school’s SEN team, I work closely with our SENCo to ensure that we have the relevant support for our vulnerable children. During the afternoons I deliver catchup interventions and support our SEND children by helping them achieve their personalised targets.

I have been at St. Clement’s since 2013 and love the community spirit that surrounds the school, children and their families which is why I became a staff Governor in 2014.

This week, in Year 5, we have had lots of fun learning.  We have been using ‘Readers Theatre’ during our reading lessons which has been a great hit for our children as they love to perform. This helps the children to remember the structure of a piece of text which supports them with their story writing.

We have also started our new topics which means the children have been exposed to lots of new vocabulary to learn and implement. Below are a few of the words, can you find them in the wordsearch? If you are unsure what some of them are, why not ask a child from year 5. In History, this half term we are covering ‘Early Islamic Civilisation’.  Our children have been fascinated with this topic and are excited to find out more in the coming weeks.
