Representation within the school

At St. Clement’s C. of E. Academy the school councillors enjoy a responsible role and feel empowered to use this to represent the school.

Each councillor is given a badge, which shows their positions as a school councillor. Each class elect 2 councillors to represent them from those that stand for the position. These elected councillors present class views and raise issues with the senior leaders /management and their peers of their school. The school councilors can also take forward initiatives and projects on behalf of their peers, and are involved in planning and implementing events and fundraisers.

The councillors help bridge the gap between teachers, governor’s, parents and their peers. It is a chance for the councilors to have the opportunity to let adults know their feelings and opinions about things that affect them. They councillors also have the opportunity to have a say about decisions and changes within St. Clement’s, playing an active role in making their school a better place to be a part of.
