We have been analysing the number of children late for school each day. We are very disappointed to note that almost 15% of our children arrive after the 8.55 a.m. bell (that’s the equivalent of a whole class!). This must improve as those children, who are often the same children several times a week, are missing important lesson time and the chance to practice their basic skills.
The first bell goes at 8.45 a.m. and you should aim to arrive then. Teachers are ready in classrooms at this time and the children have additional opportunities to look at the work they did the previous day and talk to the teacher about how they can improve. They can’t do this if they are arriving late.
I am really glad to see that those parents who I have seen outside school this week have really improved their punctuality so please can everyone make a big effort to get here on time. If this means dropping your child off earlier don’t forget we have Breakfast Club from 8.00 a.m. every day.
